Perfect the Art of Drunk Dialing with Free iPhone App

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Whether you’re a reformed offender or still at the height of your drunk dialing, all drinkers have at least once abused the privilege and power of our mobile connectedness.

Late night bootie calls to your bio lab partner, drunken 2am voice mails for your brother on the East Coast, recruiting sober drivers when you wake up in a Korean BBQ joint 12 miles from your last un-blacked-out location – all these acts are made easy and entertaining with DrunkDialer, our latest free iPhone app.

It shuffles through your phone book and picks a victim contact at random. You can press the button to call, or spin the wheel again if your Aunt’s number comes up. This is how we like to get day parties started- sit on the couch, start rifling through our phones, find random phone numbers and invite them over for some beer and bbq. Before you know it, you have a random assortment of friends to help you finish that leftover keg.

Go get the DrunkDialer, build and strengthen friendships over a few beers, and burn the bridges that weren’t strong enough to withstand repeated drunk calls- they weren’t your type anyways.

Our latest iPhone beer app: BeerButton

Stop rambling the streets after the bars are closed, desperately searching for your next source of cold beer. Locate the nearest liquor store in seconds by pressing the BeerButton on your iPhone.

iphone-beer-appSince you probably couldn’t understand written instructions anyway, the app pulls up Google Maps and shows you exactly where your drunk ass needs to go if you want to buy that very necessary 32oz of King Cobra, two beef sticks, jumbo bag of Hot Cheetos, and a skull cap covered in skulls with spider legs*.

The best thing about the BeerButton app is that it’s FREE.

We’ve impressed many a drunk friend with this app- it’s like a compass to the promised land, and your Moses. Follow this link to download it from the iTunes store.

*Yes, I bought all that crap at 2:30am last Friday. What’s more bad ass then skull spiders? Right? No? Okay, yeah you’re right. Our next creation should be a way to disable all credit and debit card transactions after 2am.

40cozy’s iPhone app reaches 100,000 downloads

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

We’re very proud of reaching the 100k mark in just two weeks. That’s the nerdy equivalent of a gold record, right? If you haven’t heard yet, we recently launched pour1out, a free iPhone application.

Pour1out is an iPhone application paying homage to the street tradition of pouring out some of your 40oz to commemorate fallen homies. The main feature is a motion-sensitive 40oz beer bottle that pours out when you tilt the iPhone. Users can select any of 40cozy’s beer koozies to add to the virtual beer. The greatest feedback involves the one-click button that finds the nearest liquor store, utilizing the iPhone’s GPS functionality.

We initially had some glitches in the first version, but I guess that’s what you get when you pay the developer in beer. We’ve released a newer version with better coding and we’ll keep working to improve the app.

While we’ve received some very positive reviews from several beer-drinking sites, it seems some of the iPhone users are slightly less impressed. We’re pretty sure they don’t get the tongue-in-cheek, ironic beauty of an application inspired by a $2.45 beer for a $300 phone. It has a button that finds the nearest liquor stores… and it’s free! Are you not entertained?

Perhaps they think we’re a slick corporate company trying to capitalize on the street cred of the 40oz. Well, we’re not. The app was created by Scott, our resident tech-savvy guy, in under two weeks. He filmed the 40 oz pouring out beer in his garage, dusted off his programming textbook, slapped at a keyboard for a long time, and behold: 40cozy’s pour1out.

We’re proud of it and we hope you enjoy it. We’re already working on another iPhone app for drinkers that’s going to blow every other app out of the water. That’s right, developer bitches, get ready for more genius from 40cozy.
