The 5 greatest beer robots!
So I do a lot of beer-releated web-browsing during the work-week. Part of that is because I’m a slacker and part of it is because of where I work. One of the funniest things I’ve found during these productive days is the surprising amount of robots designed and built to do something involving beer or drinking. I’ve put together a list of five of my favorites in no particular order.
1: Beer throwing fridge!
This one made it on letterman. Its a fridge that launches a beer to you! I don’t see how you would ever open it after the toss though, the foam would spray all over.
2: Asahi Robocco: Beer-pouring robot
This one is for Asahi beer, dont you love the Japanese? I like this one a lot, especially with the childlike voice and animated eyes. I wish i knew what it was saying, i hope its just repeating “I love beer!” in Japanese. The only problem with this one is it takes way to long to pour. I could probably pound a whole 40 of Mickeys in the time it takes for this thing to pour me one.
3: Industrial beer robot!
Ok, this one is pretty cool, its a huge industrial robot-arm that they’ve trained to open and pour a beer. Its much faster than that Japanese robot and gets extra points for using a piece of metal on the wall as an opener. The pour is a little sloppy, but lets not complain when a huge robot arm is handing you a beer.
4: Mister Asahi
It looks like after asahi’s first attempt (see above) they went with a second, faster, better beer robot. This one seems better at his job but i miss the childlike voice.
5: this one drinks it, doesn’t serve it
This cute little guy doesn’t open beer or pour beer, he just drinks it. I have great respect for this one, although I would respect him more if he dribbled a little on his chest when he drank.
